Electric power will be represented in both classic motoring and modern competition machinery at this year’s Welsh Motorsport & Supercar Festival, with two very different EV displays confirmed for Pembrey Circuit on Sunday 13 September.

Welsh company Electric Classic Cars, the world’s largest converter of classic cars to electric power, will showcase its expertise with two of its creations. Founded in 2015 by Richard ‘Moggy’ Morgan and based in Newtown, the company specialises in transforming much-loved vehicles from the 1950s through to the 1980s into reliable, high-performance electric cars.

Festival visitors will be able to get up close to an electric Land Rover Defender 90 and silver Volkswagen Beetle, demonstrating how modern EV technology can give familiar classics an entirely new character while retaining their instantly recognisable appearance.

Electric power will also feature in the Rally Zone, where Vauxhall will display its all-new Mokka GSE Rally car. The competition EV is driven by Welsh rally star loan Lloyd in the ADAC Opel Electric Rally Cup and will form part of the family’s West Wales Rally Spares display.

From reinventing established motoring icons to the latest developments in electric rallying, the two displays will offer a fascinating look at some of the different ways EV technology is being used across the automotive and motorsport worlds.

The Welsh Motorsport & Supercar Festival takes place at Pembrey Circuit on Sunday 13 September 2026.
