Motorsport Legend David Richards to Take Centre Stage at Welsh Motorsport & Supercar Festival
One of the most influential figures in British motorsport, David Richards, will be appearing at this year’s Welsh Motorsport & Supercar Festival at Pembrey Circuit on Sunday 13 September.
Richards has enjoyed an extraordinary career at the highest levels of international motorsport. He famously partnered Ari Vatanen as co-driver on their way to winning the 1981 World Rally Championship, before going on to establish Prodrive, a company that would become synonymous with success across rallying and circuit racing.
Today, Richards remains Chairman of Prodrive as well as Chairman of Motorsport UK, continuing a career that has placed him at the heart of the sport for more than five decades.
At Pembrey, fans will have the opportunity to hear from Richards first-hand when he takes to the Pembrey Stage for a live Q&A. He’ll share stories and memories from his remarkable career, from competing at the highest level of world rallying to working with some of motorsport’s most famous drivers, teams and cars.
His appearance will complement a special display of machinery from the Prodrive heritage collection, including the Ford Escort RS1800 associated with Vatanen and Richards’ 1981 championship-winning campaign and Colin McRae’s 1996 Group A Subaru Impreza.
The Welsh Motorsport & Supercar Festival takes place at Pembrey Circuit on Sunday 13 September 2026.
