Wales' biggest celebration of motorsport and supercars returns to Pembrey

Some of the world's rarest supercars, iconic rally, racing and motorcycle machinery, stunt displays, motorsport celebrities and a day of spectacular live track action will all come together at Pembrey for the Welsh Motorsport & Supercar Festival on Sunday 13 September.

Now in its third year, the event has grown into the biggest automotive and motorsport festival of its kind in Wales and the South West – and the 2026 edition will be its largest and most diverse yet.

Over 200 supercars are expected at Pembrey, headed by an extraordinary collection of modern automotive exotica including a Mercedes-AMG ONE, Bugatti Chiron, Aston Martin Valhalla, McLaren P1 GTR and a Ferrari F40.

But the Welsh Motorsport & Supercar Festival is about much more than static displays, as Pembrey's famous racing circuit will be alive throughout the day with the sight and sound of Super Touring Cars, modern and historic rally cars, racing motorcycles, drifting, motorcycle stunt displays, autograss demonstration runs and British Truck Racing Championship machinery – before many of the world's most exotic road-legal cars take to the track for a spectacular end-of-day supercar parade.

Rally legends reunited with iconic cars

One of the centrepieces of this year's Festival will be a collection of significant cars from rallying's past and present.

Prodrive chairman David Richards CBE will attend the event, with two famous cars from the Prodrive Heritage Collection making the journey to Pembrey – the Subaru Impreza World Rally Car in which Colin McRae won the 1996 Rallye Catalunya and Ari Vatanen's 1981 World Rally Championship-winning Rothmans Ford Escort RS1800 Mk2.

They will form part of an extensive rally display that includes a selection of spectacular Group B machinery, while rally stars such as Gwyndaf Evans, Meirion Evans, Osian Pryce, James Williams, Tom Cave and Ioan Lloyd will be there too – all with competition cars.

Meirion, for example, will bring his Castrol MEM Rally Team Toyota GR Yaris Rally2, giving visitors the opportunity to see at close quarters one of the latest generation of international-specification rally cars – while Gwyndaf will bring his famous 2-litre SEAT Ibiza Kit Car, James an ex-works Subaru Impreza and Tom an Escort Mk2.

From cutting-edge technology to the world's fastest wheelbarrow

The variety of machinery at Pembrey Circuit will stretch far beyond conventional racing and rally cars.

Litchfield will bring a selection of high-performance track cars, including two incredible Nissan GT-R track day cars, while Drvn Automotive Group – whose businesses include Koenigsegg London and Boreham Motorworks – will display one of its Ford Escort Mk1 RS models.

Harri Reynolds and Rhys Lloyd will bring the Toyota GR Supra GT4 that they race in the French GT Championship, with the competition car travelling to Wales from the south of France especially for the Festival.

Some of the other rare cars coming include the famous classic Orange Box Mini – a legendary car that contested the 1964 Manx Rally and is still going strong! The unique Mazda 323 GTX Sprint Car which held the HSA lap record at Pembrey will be at the Festival – as the 2000 BTCC-winning Prodrive Ford Mondeo and Labetts Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500. The fans’ favourite Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta Competizione will be putting on another spectacular power-sliding show, as will be very rare Group 4 Ferrari 308 rally car.

Darrian Cars will be there in force, celebrating the 30th anniversary of its British GT Championship victory and the 40th anniversary of one of its most famous drivers, Geoff Kitney, scoring his first rally win for the marque.

There will even be an appearance by one of Wales' more unusual record-breaking machines. Pembrokeshire's Dylan Phillips will bring his extraordinary creation from Crymych – the world's fastest wheelbarrow.

It’s electric!

Electric Classic Cars is the world’s largest converter of classic cars to electric power. Founded in 2015 by Richard ‘Moggy’ Morgan, the Newtown-based company transforms iconic vintage vehicles from the 1950s to the 1980s into reliable, high-performance electric vehicles. Last year it brought BugZappa, its 1000bhp, 4WD hillclimb monster, to the Festival. This year Electric Classic Cars will have a bigger display, showcasing its EV expertise and ingenuity – including a Land Rover Defender 90 and Silver VW Beetle!

Vauxhall will display its all-new Mokka GSE Rally car at the Festival. Driven by Ioan Lloyd in the ADAC Opel Electric Rally Cup, it will be located in the Rally Zone within the family's West Wales Rally Spares display area.

Racing Motorbikes, Trucks, Drifting and Stunts

Two-wheeled machinery will play a major part in the Festival, with an eclectic selection of racing motorcycles representing MotoGP, Moto2, Grand Prix racing and the Classic TT, together with racing sidecars.

Two Giants from the British Truck Racing Championship will be at the Festival this year – with 333 Motorsport team drivers Neil Yates and Steve Powell demonstrating the awesome power of their Division 1 MAN TG monsters.

Also set for a show-stopping display will be cars and drivers from the South Wales Autograss League, making their one and only appearance at Pembrey this year.

The On The Edge Motorcycle Stunt Show will bring another dimension to the live action. Its professional riders have competed at British, European and World Championship level and will perform a spectacular programme featuring jumps of up to 15 feet, vertical wall rides, huge drop-offs and interactive stunts.

Interactive displays

Visitors looking for something a little more adventurous will be able to experience the capabilities of the purpose-built INEOS Grenadier off-road vehicle with exhilarating 4x4 passenger rides. Climb aboard as professional 4x4 drivers tackle a purpose built course featuring challenging terrain and steep inclines, demonstrating just what these impressive machines are capable of.

Every penny of profit from the 4x4 rides will be donated to the Wales Air Ambulance, helping to support the charity's lifesaving work across Wales.

The University of Greater Manchester is bringing its high-performance racing simulator to the Festival for the first time. Housed in an LMP3 Le Mans carbon-fibre prototype tub, the simulator will give visitors the chance to test their driving skills for free.

NCME Director Dr Mark Busfield said: “Pembrey holds a special place in the university’s racing history and is fondly remembered. We competed at the Welsh venue in 2018, fielding the celebrated Albatec WRX car in the British Rallycross Championship, the year we won the BRX championship with Mark Higgins.

“We are excited to support the Festival and look forward to meeting visitors and showing them the fantastic facilities and programmes NCME has to offer.

“The LMP3 simulator is an exhilarating experience and as well as having a go on that piece of technology, people will get the chance to discover how to turn a passion for speed into a professional engineering career.”

There will also be a funfair to keep the younger children entertained – while at lunchtime, visitors will be able to lap the famous Pembrey Circuit in a vintage double-decker bus – supplied and run by the Swansea Transport Museum.

Closer to the action than ever before

A major part of the Welsh Motorsport & Supercar Festival is the opportunity to get close to cars that are normally seen only from behind barriers or on television.

For this event, Pembrey Circuit opens areas that are normally out of bounds to the public, including the pit garages. One admission ticket provides access to the different areas of the Festival, allowing visitors to see the machinery at close quarters and meet many of the drivers, owners and teams.

Live music will add to the festival atmosphere, with 2ED performing on Saturday night and again late on Sunday morning, followed by Bar Hounds on Sunday afternoon.

Visitors won’t go hungry, as there will be a food village with a big variety of freshly-made street food – plus the Pembrey Circuit Formula 1 Restaurant and Bar will be open, serving breakfast, lunch, snacks and hot and cold drinks.

The Welsh Motorsport & Supercar Festival is also the only event at Pembrey Circuit at which well-behaved dogs are permitted – so you really can bring all the family!
