Llanelli’s Bob Fowden heads up a 70 Strong entry for Carmarthen Motor Club’s Fairfield Merlin stages at Pembrey Circuit, Carmarthenshire on Sunday 23rd July 2023.
The event is round 5 of the JD Tyres Welsh Tarmacadam and Formula 1000 Junior Rally Championships, and is the first summer event at Pembrey Circuit since the K & N Filters Rallies in the 1990’s.
This event celebrates the 40th Anniversary of Carmarthen Motor Club’s first event at Pembrey Circuit, then known as The Motorsports Centre. The Teasdale Tarmac Rally Stages was won by Pembroke’s Ian Butherway (Escort RS 2000) in August 1983. Bob & Aled Davies (Subaru WRC) will be pushed all the way by Swansea’s Phil Turner & Simon Anthony (Citroen E2 R2), Phils Grandson Thomas Cooper & Paul Williams (Evo 9) and leading championship contender Pontypridd’s Richard Merriman & Kath Curzon (Darrian T90) to name a few.
Other interesting entries come from Burry Port Motorsport family Chris Jones and brother Mark Jones out in their Welsh built Gilbern Specials, son Sean Jones and Uncle Phil in a very special Vauxhall Astra.
The 6 stages will includes some new sections totalling 36 competitive miles.
Gates open for spectators at 07:30 at £10 per spectator, Children up to 14 years of age free of charge, 1st car into stage 09:30am.
