Pembrey Circuit can confirm that the Autosport International BTRDA Rallycross Championship presented by Cooper Tires event that had been due to take place this weekend (August 8/9) has been rescheduled for November 7/8.
Following on from this morning’s statement confirming the cancellation of this weekend’s race meeting, Pembrey and BTRDA organisers have worked to find a new date for the event, settling on a slot in early November.
With events at venues across the UK having already resumed, Pembrey has worked closely with the Welsh Government and Motorsport UK to stage race meetings however current restriction has prevented this from happening so far.
Please note that this rescheduled date remains provisional and will be subject to change in-keeping with guidelines from the Welsh Government and Motorsport UK.
Phil Davies, Pembrey Circuit Manager, said: “Firstly we are obviously very disappointed that we have had to cancel this weekend’s event in the first instance.
"Over the past few weeks we have been in constant dialogue with the Welsh Government and Motorsport UK to find a way of proceeding with our first race meeting since lockdown restrictions were eased but it just wasn’t possible.
“Since we made the announcement this morning I have been in discussions with the BTRDA and I’m pleased to announce that we have found them a new date to stage the event later in the year.
“I’m proud that we’ve been able to act quickly and give competitors, marshals and officials a new date this quickly.”
