Ten-time MV Commercial BTRA Championship title winner Stuart Oliver is set to swap big rigs for buggy’s this weekend (June 22/23) at Pembrey Circuit as he features on the Toyo Tires Motorsport UK British Rallycross Championship package.
Traditionally found behind the wheel of a five-tonne Volvo truck that produces in excess of 1000bhp, the most successful driver in British Truck Racing will join the RX150 Rallycross Championship ranks as a guest driver with support by H & T Installations, whom are linked to Supercar driver Roger Thomas.
Weighing just 430kgs and producing a staggering 200bhp, the single seater machine can attain eye-watering speeds and they are renowned for producing an abundance of edge-of-the-seat thrills and spill whenever taking to the track.
Phil Davies, Pembrey Circuit Manager, said: “We’re extremely excited to have Stuart join us this weekend and see how he gets on in the RX150 class.
“In May we staged the first of our two truck racing meeting’s of the season but unfortunately Stuart wasn’t in action so it will be great to finally see him out on-track. From speaking to him he has always enjoyed racing at Pembrey however this time it will be slightly different.
“I’m sure that he will be right in the mix and as ever, he will put on a show for the enthusiastic crowd that we are set to welcome through the gates."
Alongside Oliver, Pembrey will also welcome FIA World Rally Championship ace Elfyn Evans, who will shake down a RX150 buggy on the Friday prior to the meeting.
